  • The Head Coach of the Digicel Kick Start Clinics in Central America joined the footballers for dinner to mark the end of their week-long training camp in Man. City

Tuesday, October 13th 2009 - Kingston, Jamaica: The six Digicel Kick Start Clinics footballers from Central America had a surprise guest at a dinner to mark the end of their week-long training camp in Man. City this weekend, in the form of Liverpool legend and Head Coach, Ian Rush.
Following a tough week of training under some of the English Premier League's finest coaches, Ian Rush surprised the six boys by joining them for dinner to see how their week with Man. City's Academy went. Following the dinner, Rush presented each footballer with a signed print from the UK's most successful club of all time - the 1990 Liverpool FC First Division Champions.

Ian Rush said of his trip to see the boys: "It was great to see the boys in Manchester and catch up with them after their week-long training camp. From talking to each of them, they seemed to have thoroughly enjoyed their trip and learned a lot from the coaches. I'm delighted that the week went so well for them and I'd like to wish each of them the very best of luck in their football careers."

On Saturday, the boys were also treated to a trip to Blackburn Rovers whose Academy was playing against teams from Man. City's Academy, before they boarded a flight home to their respective countries in Central America on Sunday morning.

Speaking at the end of their stay in Manchester, Costa Rican footballer, Dylan Florez, said: "This trip to Man. City has more than lived up to my expectations. I learned so much from the coaches here this week and with the Under 17 FIFA World Cup coming up in Nigeria in two weeks time, the new skills that I have learned will help us compete in this important tournament."
